Hākari Below the Stars

Join Space Place in welcoming the Māori New Year with whānau-friendly activities, and kai.

Your tickets include:

• Access to the epic space science museum
• Planetarium dome screening
• Live Matariki star talks
• Telescope viewings (weather permitting)
• Tamariki activities
• Kapa Haka and musical performances

Discover Māori star lore in How It was Told to Me – a planetarium show about three Māori legends: The Creation, Rona and Mārama and the story of Te Waka o Tama-rereti. 

Gain a new perspective of our southern skies with telescope viewings (weather permitting). Tamariki will learn more about the star cluster through activity booklets, all while looking fabulous with professional facepainting.

Watch incredible performances by Wellington High School’s Kapa Haka group and talented rangatahi from Virtuoso Strings. Refuel with the delicious kai on offer.

We can’t wait to celebrate the Māori new year with you!
